Applications are now open for volunteers who will be at least 16 years old by 31 December 2026 and would like to help organise the 68th International Mathematical Olympiad in Budapest.
Volunteers are needed throughout the event, taking place from 18 to 26 July 2027, with particular demand on the competition days, 21–22 July. You can apply for roles such as examination supervisor, host/hostess, or logistics assistant. We also welcome applications from those who are available for only part of the event.
During the Olympiad, volunteers will receive meals and, in certain cases, accommodation, as well as plenty of memorable experiences.
Many volunteer positions do not require knowledge of a foreign language. However, being able to communicate at least at a basic level in English or another foreign language may open up more opportunities, as IMO 2027 is an international event.
Volunteer applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Please don't apply, if you already applied to be a guide.
